My Story...

So, this is my first "blog". From taking the time to put my thoughts and different experiences in words, I hope to learn as much as any of you that might take the time to read it.

For an "intro blog", I'll just talk about my life a bit. I have been blessed throughout my life. I mean it's really mind-blowing! I was raised by wonderful, GODLY parents, who didn't give me a choice as I was young- we were going to church. I've seen them sacrifice and lay down their life and desires for my own, a constant reminder of our "spiritual parent", our Heavenly Father and His ULTIMATE sacrifice for us!! I was saved when I was six or seven. I asked Jesus into my heart during a children's church puppet skit, and was baptized and made a new creation!

School was school. My God allowed me to enjoy great success scholastically and in sports. I know that it was nothing I was or did, but because of His great grace and favor. As I was about to enter my junior year of high school, Brandon (my God-sent husband) was about to enter his junior year of college.  That summer (technically our unofficial "first date" was in April of our sophomore years) our "friendship" became a little more than "just friends". He started calling, wanting to hang out, inviting me to "hang out" with his friends, asking my brother to do things(so that he could see me:). This "grew", LOVE grew, and we started dating. Four years later, he proposed on August 15, 2008 over an outdoor, candlelit dinner:). Seven months later, on March 13, 2009, we became one- husband and wife. It amazes me to look back at our relationship and see how much we have grown as indiviuals and as a couple. Through Christ, ALL things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)

I graduated college in August of 2009 as a Registered Radiologic Technologist, so professionally I sign my name Holly Rodgers R.T.(R). This past January, God answered a prayer and opened a door to the job I currently have. I am blessed (by my Lord and my husband:) to only work part-time, two days a week doing x-rays and DEXA scans.

Being a Christian for most of my life, I have rode the "rollercoaster" you so often hear about associated with the Christian life. I've gone up and down, back and forth, and had my times of highs and lows. Come back from youth camps on fire!!! then months down the road struggling to even read and pray to the Father. Obviously, it shouldn't be this way. Yes, it's not always going to be easy, we are going to go through some "tough stuff", we are not always going to feel like doing it. But it's Jesus!!! It's our Saviour! The one who paid the price for our sins, the one who takes us in no matter what we have done, the I AM. What more do we need to want to draw closer, to want to hear His voice, to want His will?!?

So present day, I am on a journey- God's journey. For several months now He has been truly stirring me and I can't wait to see what He has in store for me! I am in anxious anticipation and can't wait to see Him reveal Himself to me!

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20
